What I Learned Last Sunday

post

Living To Please Others (Romans 15:1-4)

October 9, 2012 By Heath Rost

I always make the most conscience effort to be as empathetic to everyone I interact with.  In fact, this morning a co-worker was introducing a new hire who displayed this perfectly by simply asking me if he could bother me for a minute for a meet and greet. Not everyone does that, so I decided to let this co-worker of mine know I appreciated his kind and professional way to interrupt me from my work.  This is how I practiced helping others to continue doing what is right and to build up this co-worker of mine in the Lord.

I strongly feel recognizing small acts from people and pointing them out with words of thanks and/or compliments truly have the largest impact on the person’s psychological state towards you.  People might not remember what you’ve said or even what you’ve done, but they will always remember the way you’ve made them feel.

Acts of kindness such as this give people hope and encouragement, just as scriptures do.

Your Turn

Today, make a conscience effort to appreciate small acts of kindness and thank the individual who performed it.  I promise it will make their day.
