What I Learned Last Sunday

post

Be Change

February 13, 2013 By Heath Rost

Hey Team,

I realized a great deal today.  My eyes were opened to several things throughout the day, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.

First, my day started out fantastic because I was finally able to get my podcasts onto my iPad.  With that, I started listening to a new podcast coined EntreprenuerOnFire.  This podcast is fabulous, let me tell you why!  Every episode the host @JohnLeeDumas interviews a different entrepreneur, and he interviews five entrepreneurs a week.  One brilliant question he asks every entrepreneur is “what would you do if you were stripped of everything, and for the next seven days you had to start all over?”

This interviewee in particular (episode 4) answered that first he would make a list of his skills, then of his passions.  The next step was to put them side by side and find the overlap between the two.  Once that is found, its time to find a way you can use the overlap to do something unique in the industry one has ever done before, and will add value to people who are familiar with the industry.  I’m of course speaking in rather broad terms right now, but you get the idea.

I relate this “ah ha” moment you get when you worked really hard at something, and you studied and studied to achieve a more broad understanding, then all of the sudden something clicked.

This happened for me at my church small group session tonight.

Let me catch you all up.  Last summer/fall I met with the pastor of my church John for the first time over coffee.  I told him I was interested in getting involved, however, I told him I was very young in my faith, and not real confident leading anything.  Since then my faith and grown on a very accelerated path.  I honestly don’t remember the last Sunday I missed.

The point I want to get at is I feel as if I’m constantly growing in my faith day in and day out right now.  I can feel a large change about to happen, as I’ve had visions of great clarity more and more frequently.  My thought patterns have been clear and precise.  I’ve also been carrying out my visions through immediate and timely action.  I’m pushing others, and in return being pushed harder to achieve my goals as well.  Its an endless cycle I’m ecstatic to be a part of.

The constant surrounding of encouragement is truly raising me to a higher self.  It is a true testament that two is better than one.  Without the mental clarity of faith and trust others have in you to do what you set out to do absolutely pushes you forward.  If they don’t respect you, and still expect the same things, they will turn up disappointed.  It all sounds pretty simple to me.  The answer is to trust everyone.

Trust everyone.  Trust in the process, His process.  Trust in yourself.  Be change.    [tweet this]

He has a plan for everyone.  Our only duty is to be awake for it.  What I mean by we need to be awake for it is that we need to be conscience and constantly in the moment, honest with ourselves at all times.  We need to be active, to take action.

We need to constantly maintain the mindset of when you’re making your decisions throughout the day, who is pushing your reasoning?

God doesn’t want us to live in fear.  God wants us to trust in him and vanquish fear from our hearts. There are 366 times it says “fear not” or “don’t be afraid” in the Bible.  As long as you are constantly doing the right thing, not because you have to, but because its right, God will show up in the midst of the fire.

Give Him all your trust, your whole trust, and worry is relinquished.

God Bless,
Heath

      Mmm thank you Alicia.

First I would acquire a laptop with an internet connection–by any means necessary.

Second I would research the next big conference going on where I know I would have the opportunity to network and ask the right people the right questions. Even if I couldn’t afford to attend the conference I would go there anyway to hang out by the bar.

Third I would start a software company based on the feedback I received from business owners in a specific niche industry.

How about you? What would you do if you were stripped of everything, and for the next seven days you had to start all over?
